I have really enjoyed experimenting with cyanotypes over the past few months. I like the unpredictability of each print and how you can manipulate them to create certain effects.
To make my cyanotypes I bought some 300gsm hot pressed smooth surface watercolour paper that could withstand being rinsed and covered them in the cyanotype chemicals in a room with no UV light. I then placed different objects on-top of the paper and experimented with adding things such as water and bubbles to create different effects. I also experimented with adding things such as coffee and turmeric to see what different colours I could bring out in my prints.
Once I had everything on my paper I exposed them for different times depending on the weather. Once the prints had turned a brownish colour I brought them in and rinsed them to get my final pieces.
